Metropolitan Expressway toll

My family’s temple is located in Machida-City, Tokyo.
I use the expressway from Chiba all the way, where we live, Machida in Tokyo to pay our respects to ancestor,s graveyard.
When there is no traffic , it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there.
However, it takes more than 3 hours when cars are crowded, such as on holiday seasons.
The fare is about 6,000 yen ( U.S. 50 dollars) round trip.
Use the Higashi-Kanto Expressway, the Metropolitan Expressway, and the Tomei Expressway to get there.
However, the Metropolitan Expressway tolls have increased since April 1, 2022.
The maximum fee has been raised from 1,320 yen to 1,950 yen.
Until now, a maximum fee (1,320 yen for a standard car) has been set for use over a toll distance of 35.7 km.
Therefore, the longer the distance of use, the cheaper the rate per kilometer.
To take advantage of this benefit, cars passing through the city center chose the Metropolitan Expressway, which caused traffic congestion in the city center.
The price seems to have been raised to relieve this traffic jam.
We are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet as the price of everything, including groceries and daily necessities, goes up.

April 1 marks the beginning of fiscal new year in Japan and the start of a new cemester of school and company.
But it is rare to see a new fiscal year starting in April in any country in the world.
Why did the new fiscal year start in April in Japan as it does today?
In the beginning of the Meiji Era, the new fiscal year started in July.
However, by 1884 (Meiji era 17), military expenditures were growing rapidly, and the country was in danger of running a large deficit.
In order to reduce the deficit, the new fiscal year was moved up from July to April in 1886 (Meiji 19), and the fiscal year was shortened to nine months in 1885 (Meiji 18).
As a result, the budget deficit was reduced in 1885 (Meiji 18).
On the other hand, in Western countries located in the Northern Hemisphere, the school year generally begins in August or September after the summer vacation.
Since the days when agriculture was flourishing, it seems that children began attending school in the fall and winter in order to help with farm work in the spring and summer.

I have wondered about, since I was a child.
That is, people are reading on trains and in cafes.
I don’t know why, but I cannot read or study outdoors.
I can’t concentrate at all.
In trains, I have motion sickness is another cause.
I can manage indoors even hotel, But, I can not control in the cafe where a lot of peoples gathered.
I see people reading business books and textbooks on the train and students studying with friends at a café on weekends, and I often wonder how they do it.
Can you all do it?

I am sad to say that the cherry blossoms bloomed early this year and are not likely to last until the school entrance ceremony in April.
The other day, I took an extra walk one stop after work and found that the nighttime cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
Some people were drinking canned chu-hi( Sake ) wathcing cherry bloom.
Mr. Yoda, a weather forecaster, talked about the law of titles.
The highest temperature since February 1 is added up, and the Someiyoshino-cherry bloom on the day when the temperature reaches exactly 600℃.
They have data for the past 69 years, and on nine of those occasions, the bloom dates have coincided perfectly.
In addition, more than 70percent of the total number of blooms occurred within three days before and after the day the temperature reached 600°C.
It’s a very simple rule, but it has an astounding accuracy rate.
I would like to use this to guess the bloom date for next year’s cherry blossoms.

Charter Flight

Currently, the number of passengers using airplanes for the Corona Disaster has decreased dramatically.
Under such circumstances, there seems to be a service that offers charter flights using surplus airplanes.
It is said to be a style of semi-custom charter in which the aircraft is chartered and the purchaser’s wishes are fulfilled by selecting destinations, what can be done on board, etc.
As an example of the product, the maximum number of passengers is 70, and the fee is 1.5 million yen(USDollars 120,000) for a one-hour per flight.
If 70 people were to board the flight, the cost would be about 22,000 yen per person, so the air trip would be much the same as a regular air fare.
This is a semi-custom charter flight that can be enjoyed at a low price because of the current Corona disaster.
