   Supermarket
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

The other day I went shopping at a supermarket called “LOPIA”.

It’s a supermarket, but it only sells food, not daily necessities.

The meat was especially cheap, and there were enough packs on the sales floor for a family of four to eat.

Other products are also cheaper and more fun to shop for.

LOPIA is a well known supermarket that operates mainly in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The entire group has sales of 206.8 billion yen (as of September 2021) and 62 stores.

The Ayase store, opened in 2009, had sales of 4 billion yen.

Since then, the company has continued to make rapid progress, opening about six new stores a year.

They seem to be cutting costs thoroughly by paying in cash and without inserts(flyer)

The prepared foods are also inexpensive, so if you have a chance, please go there.

   The importance of socializing
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

From last year to this year, the work environment of various people has changed due to Corona.

I’ve changed jobs.

I was fortunate enough to be able to work at my current company.

I was fortunate to be well-liked during my career change.

Many people came up to me and said, “Come to our company working together”.

They still call on me, and I can only thank them for that.

When in trouble, we help each other.

Corona has changed my personal and professional environment.

Corona has reminded me to take good care of people.

   Infruenza, Flu
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

According to the Infectious Diseases Society of Japan, there is a fear that this season’s influenza will spread on a larger scale than usual.

For this reason, people are urged to be proactive in getting the flu vaccine.

Last season, the Corona disaster caused thorough measures to be taken, such as wearing masks and washing hands.

I’m sure you all clearly remember the significant decrease in the number of influenza cases due to this.

So why do we need to be extra careful this season?

This is because there were very few cases of influenza last season, so the collective immunity of the entire society has not been formed this season.

In Japan, the state of emergency has been lifted and traffic restrictions have been eased.

If the flu virus is introduced into the country without the formation of herd immunity, there is a risk of a pandemic.

I just finished my second shot of the corona vaccine the other day.

I’m going to get the flu vaccine before the flu hits.

   Calendar
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

One day, a TV weatherman explained the following.

“According to the calendar, It is the Twenty-Four Solar Terms.

The calendar is determined by the relative positions of the earth, and the sun in their rotations and orbits(revolution).

It was introduced to Japan from China.

In Taiwan, China, and Southeast Asian countries, it is also called the yellow calendar, the agricultural calendar, the lunar calendar.also called old calendar

Originally, the 24 solar terms on the calendar were named based on the climate of the area centered on the Central Plains of China (*).
As a result, the climate and seasonality are slightly different from what we experience in Japan.
(*)The most developed cultural and economic center in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, including present-day western Shandong, Hebei, Henan, southern Shanxi, and eastern Shanxi provinces.

The yellow calendar records not only the climate, but also the wisdom of our ancestors in terms of agricultural and marine products suited to the season.

November 7th is already the first day of winter according to the calendar.

We can feel the signs of winter, winter is starting.

   Twin Bed
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

Lately, I’ve been addicted to watching TV programs ” Why on Wednesday ” on Netflix channel.

This is a local program in Hokkaido, but it is very famous.

The theme of the program is “travel,” and recently I’ve been watching the “21 Countries of Europe Conquered Edition.

This is a rather reckless and interesting project in which four members, including Yo Oizumi, attempt to travel across Europe using only a rental car.

Their trip is staying in hotels without reservations.

To save money, They look for a hotel where two peoples can stay in one room, but they always face some certain problem.

There are no twin bed rooms at destinations.

There is always only one room with one bed, even though Oizumi-san complains about it.

I have worked in the lodging industry, and I think this is inevitable.

To begin with, there is not much of a concept of “twin bed rooms” in the Europe and U.S.A.

Since couples are in the habit of sleeping in one bed, there is no thought of having two beds in a room meant for two peoples.

“If you want to sleep on one bed per person, you should sleep in one room per person,” This is the basic idea of Europe and U.S.A. hotels.

That said, some hotels have two, so it’s hard to say, but it’s less than in Japan.

It is said that the reason why Japanese people insist on sleeping on one bed per person, even when two people stay in the same room, is because of their culture of sleeping on futons.( quilt mattress )

It is said that it is a unique culture from a foreign point of view to stay in the same space with family and friends, but with separate bedding.

I had also made arrangements for hotels overseas, and Japanese people, especially couples traveling together, would ask for twin bed rooms.

However, it is not easy to find such a room.

So, the only thing I can suggest is to put in another foldable bed, although it will be quite cramped.

Even so, if you install another bed in a room that already has one king or queen bed in it, the room will be ridiculously cramped.

In addition, there is an additional fee and in many cases it cannot be guaranteed.

I would like to say something to those people (just my opinion)… When in Rome, Do as the Romans do.

   Asagimadara Butterfly
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

Shortly after the fifth declaration of a state of emergency in Japan was lifted, I went on a weekend family trip deep in the mountains of Gunma prefecture.

We were lucky enough to avoid the traffic in the morning, so, We went Akagi Nature Park to arrange craft by acorn.

We do not have any particular plan for tomorrow, But After checking several place, and decided to visit GUNMA INSECTS FOREST where a hands-on educational facility

Until I arrived there, I had imagined it to be just a museum with insects on display.

The rainbow stag beetle, native to Australia, was glittering and moving.

In the nurturing dome, butterflies were flying everywhere, and it was a fantastic space.

The little girls were excited, saying it was just like the “butterfly house” in the manga ” Demon Slayer(KIMETSU NO YAIBA)”.

You can also bring your own insect net anywhere in the park, as long as you catch and release them.

As it was Sunday, the park was crowded with many children.

When I was in elementary school, a praying mantis injured my finger and I was never good at bugs.

However, I enjoyed it very much.

In particular, I wanted to spend all day looking at the nurturing dome, which was filled with butterflies, including the rainbow stag beetle and the Asagimadara butterfly.

It was a weekend that made me envy the children of Gunma, where there are such wonderful facilities.
