RAMEN, Chinese Noodle
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
The other day I visited family ramen restaurant name Chiba-Ke at Mitsuwadai, Chiba City.
According to my research on the Internet, this restaurant always ranks high in the ranking of the best ramen shops in Chiba Prefecture.
I arrived at the restaurant before 13:00 on a weekday.
There was already a long line, and after standing in line for about 30 minutes, we finally got in.
The restaurant was run by the owner and his wife.
While we were waiting in line outside, the owners wife came to ask us what we wanted to order.
She didn’t write down our orders on a piece of paper, but memorized all the orders for 6 or 7 people.
She asked for large, medium and small ramen, toppings, how hard the noodles should be, how strong the flavor should be, etc.
I was impressed and wondered how she could remember all that.
She was also very friendly and energetic, and I would like to come back to this restaurant again.

Mistake
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Humans are creatures that are bound to make mistakes.
It is said that even with the utmost care, it is impossible to eliminate mistakes.
Learning from mistakes is a great asset, but we do not want to make mistakes as much as possible.
We have considered countermeasures against human error.
* Create an environment where human error is unlikely to occur.
(1) Communicate well with colleagues and create an environment that prevents mistakes from occurring.
(2) Create guidelines and manuals, simplify work procedures as much as possible, and make them easy to understand.
(3) Be organized and neat
(4) Take appropriate breaks
(5) Be calm and concentrate on one task at a time (avoid having too many tasks at once)
(6) Have enough time to review the work in a relaxed manner.
Recently, I have not had much time to relax.
I would like to make more time so that my work will not be affected.

Masks
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
On May 12, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology spoke about the wearing of masks by students at a meeting of the Education and Science Committee of the House of Councillors.
It seemed to recognize that, in anticipation of a hot and humid summer, masks should be removed during P.E. (physical education) classes, whether indoors or outdoors.
There is a hygiene manual for schools on dealing with new coronas established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
While it states that masks “should be worn when sufficient distance cannot be covered,” it also indicates that “they should be removed on days with high temperatures and humidity” and that “they are not necessary in P.E. (physical education).
However, in actual practice, the principal has decided to wear them in P.E., (Physical Education) and in some cases, they are required to wear special masks in the swimming pool.
As we enter the summer season, wearing masks increases the risk of heat stroke, which can be fatal.
Still, it is also important to take precautions against corona infections.
It seems that there are differing opinions among parents regarding the wearing of masks.

There is a TV program called “Hajimete no Otsukai” that has been popular among Japanese people for more than 30 years.
This program was distributed overseas via netflix and became a hot topic of conversation.
Unexpected reactions to “Hajimete no Otsukai” abroad
The British newspaper’s impression of the show was also unique.{Addicted}{Bewilderment}

Some said it was “cute,” “the idea is interesting,” and “there’s a sense of excitement in working hard to accomplish the task of Otsukai.
On the other hand, there are those who say that the children are being forced to work and that it is dangerous.
In particular, there is a scene in which a child returns home in tears after having failed in the course of his work, only to be told by his parents to go back again.
Some people say that this scene “looks like abuse.
In Europe and the United States, it is against the law to leave children alone.
Parents are basically responsible for taking their children to and from school.
This may come as a surprise to people from such a culture.
It is a delicate question whether it is labor or mere assistance.
Thinking back, I myself have never been a nanny like in the program.
I was in the countryside, so I had to drive to the supermarket.
Personally, I like the part that follows the children who appeared in the program more than the part where I do the otsukai.
It was very moving to see the children who had appeared in the show at the same age as myself become middle and high school students and adults.

One passionate thought letter
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Recently, a TV program aired the reason why the cup ramen “Marugen Ramen Aged Soy Sauce Meat Soba” was created.
Marugen Ramen, a popular ramen chain restaurant originating from Aichi Prefecture, is one of my favorite ramen restaurants.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Marugen Ramen and Nissin Foods spent a year and a half jointly developing this cup ramen, which replaces the popular mainstay product “Aged Shoyu Ramen Meat Soba”.
The development of this cup ramen was triggered by a letter received from an elementary school girl who was a fan of Marugen Ramen.
The letter read as follows
Marugen Ramen is the best ramen in the world.
However, there is no Marugen Ramen around my house.
Please make cup ramen.
Moved by this letter, the meat-soba development team created this product to respond to the girl’s feelings.
Marugen’s Meat Soba Cup Ramen is filled with the thoughts of these elementary school students.
I hope to try it soon myself.

Giving way priority
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Do you have a car?
If you have a car in Japan, May is probably your least favorite month of the year.
This year, too, we had to pay the automobile tax.
It has calmed down recently, but paying car tax in addition to high gasoline prices is quite a pain, isn’t it?
I reluctantly paid it myself.
I recently moved to Chiba Prefecture.
Chiba is an urban area and the roads are very complicated.
I am not used to it, so it was difficult for me to drive normally.
But while I was driving, I found a good point about the people of Chiba Prefecture.
That is, they are very considerate of each other’s needs.
When changing lanes, getting out of stores, etc., almost everyone was willing to give way to me.
I think it is a matter of course, but there are many areas where this is not the standard.
I have driven in many different prefectures, and I found that Chiba Prefecture is the best prefecture where people are willing to yield the right of way.
It feels good for both the person giving way and the person being given way.
I am reminded once again that I myself need to drive with consideration, so that I can drive without accidents, and so that I and everyone else can drive comfortably.
