Rice Seed Planting

I help my uncle plant rice every year at my mother’s family home.
This year, I helped him plant rice again on April 26.
My uncle’s rice field is 11,900 square meters.
It is not easy for my uncle to do it alone, so I help him every year.
I help him mainly with carrying the seedlings, first loading the rice in the plastic vinyl greenhouses onto a light truck.
My uncle drives the rice transplanter from the main house to the rice field, and I drive the light truck.
The light truck is a manual transmission.
I only drive a manual car when I help out, so while it is difficult to operate, But it is very interesting.
When I arrive at the rice field, I load the seedlings onto the rice transplanter.
I am usually pressed for time in my daily life, but when I go to the countryside, time flows in a relaxed manner, which is very relaxing.
Carrying the seedlings is hard work, but for me it is a nice change of pace every year.

Fidgeting legs

When we spend a lot of time at our desks, we tend to do the poor shaking.
Although it may seem unpleasant to the casual observer, poor yawing is good for the body.
Poverty yielding is defined as a restless movement of the heels up and down.
It is a repetition of constantly contracting and relaxing the calf muscles.
The calf is often referred to as the second heart, because the contraction of the calf muscles helps to bring blood and lymph fluid that has accumulated below back to the top.
Constant movement of this area leads to reduced swelling of the legs and improved blood circulation.
It seems like a surprisingly good exercise.
However, too much of it in public might be annoying, so it should be done in moderation.
I can’t stop myself from doing it, though.

World Trade Volume

The World Trade Organization (WTO) released its world trade forecast for 2022 on April 12.
It appears that world trade volume is expected to increase by 3.0% year-on-year.
The previous forecast was for a 4.7% increase, but this was revised downward due to the negative impact of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
In addition to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, the protracted war in Ukraine is reportedly having a major impact on the global economy.
There are also fears of a food crisis due to disruptions in exports from Ukraine and Russia, which are major suppliers of grain and other commodities.
Low-income countries, including about 35 African nations that rely on imports, could be hardest hit, they warn.
Countries will likely be forced to take action, such as releasing stockpiles to lower food prices.
At any rate, we can only hope that the war will end soon and peace will return to the world.

Shikoku first landing

In mid-April 2022, I was excited to visit Ehime Prefecture in Shikoku.
This was my first visit to Ehime Prefecture.
As I flew out of the arrival gate of Matsuyama Airport, the first thing I did was to get a glass of Ehime’s mikan juice from the “legendary faucet.
Japan and Taiwan have 32 stations with the same name.
There is Matsuyama Station in Ehime Prefecture and Matsuyama Station in Taipei City, and furthermore, the names of the airports are the same.
In 2013, the world’s first flight with the same name of origin and destination airport was launched.
Taking a bus, I first went to Dogo Onsen, the oldest hot spring in Japan with a history of 3,000 years.
The main building is being reconstructed and is still in good conditions.
On the shopping street right next to Dogo Onsen, we enjoyed a local delicacy, “tai meshi” (sea bream rice).
I then went on to Matsuyama Castle, one of the 12 existing castle towers in Japan.
The main event of the trip was the official game between Yakult and Hiroshima held at Botchan Stadium, the No. 1 ranked local baseball stadium.
An official professional baseball game is held there every year, and this year the stadium is scheduled to host an all-star game for a further third time.

Reality Show

I am still concentrating with Netflix.
When most people think of netflix, they may think of dramas and movies.
But I have recently become addicted to Western reality shows.
A reality show is one in which only the situation is set up and the real reactions and relationships of the actors are shown without a script.
(Some reality shows are staged as if there is no script, so to speak.)
In Japan, Terrace House is probably the most famous.
There are many different types.
There are some for adults that are so extreme that you want to cover your eyes, and others that show the seriousness of young people who are struggling with life.

Title: twenty something Austin
It is a look at a group of 20-somethings living together in Austin, Texas, and growing up while struggling with family, love, work, and friendship.
It doesn’t seem too contrived and is a life-size, realistic portrayal.
What surprised me was that many of the members in their late 20s said, “My parents wouldn’t allow me to live alone, and this communal living experience was the first time I left my parents’ house.
Personally, I thought that in the U.S., there is a culture of actively leaving one’s parents’ home to live on one’s own (I guess it depends on the family).
I sympathize with the members who are still trying their best, as I am from the same generation as them.

Lipstick

When I say “lipstick,” I don’t mean lipstick.
It is a single-wheel skateboard that my kids have been riding a lot lately.
My son is addicted to it and has been like a hill surfer for the past 3 months or so.
On weekends, we go to a nearby park early in the morning.
When he gets tired of riding normally, he devises various ways to ride.
He tries to continuously go under the bar over the colored cones.
They try S-shape and figure-8 riding using badminton shuttles as obstacles.
When they are done, he picks up the shuttle while turning around.
If he falls off the board, he has to start all over again from the beginning.
He failed about twice, but when he finished, he was very happy.
When we saw result, jumped for joy.
It was a moment of excitement for a little entertainer.
As for the father (me)…
I had some skateboarding experience, so I was able to ride it, but…
But there was a moment when I was flying through the air…
I was asked by my daughter with a straight face, “Are you okay?
I am father, I will do my best.
