The first Olympics I ever saw in my life was
Barcelona, Spain Olympics in 1992.
I was 10 years old at the time.
The year before that, I started to love baseball.
For the first time in my life, my father and I were glued to the TV all night to watch the Taiwanese team play baseball.
The time difference between Barcelona and Taiwan was seven hours, and every time the Taiwanese team won a game, firecrackers went off in celebration, even though it was midnight.
In the final game, they lost to Cuba by a huge margin.
Although we missed the gold medal, I will never forget the silver medal won by Taiwanese baseball.

For some reason, since the death of actor Kunie Tanaka in March of 2021, I have had an urge to watch the TV drama From the North” from the beginning.
As a serial drama, a total of 24 episodes were aired from October 1981 to March 1982.
After that, eight special dramas were aired.
In 1981, I was seven years old.
When I watched the drama, I was easily drawn in because I could somehow feel how the world and adults were when I was a child.
I watch it alone in the early morning on my days off before my family wakes up.
Lately, I seem to have become tearful, and every week I watch it in the morning, crying or sobbing, my emotions jumbled up.
However, I feel that watching “Kita no Kuni Kara” every week and shedding tears with all my might refreshes me and helps me to regulate myself.
