The retail prices of Vegetables including lettuce
are soaring as of August 22, 2020.
The national average retail price
of major vegetables (10th to 12th July) announced
by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on July 19

A NEW 500-YEN COIN

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, 3,800 foreign people visited Japan in July. The number of visitors decreased 99% from the same month last year, and was less than the previous year for 10 straight months.
It decreased 99.9 % for especially 4 months after April by year-to-year comparisons. It was the influence of Japanese entry restriction caused by the spreading of new coronavirus infection.
The number of international flights to Japan are also falling.
The total number of international flights which arrived at the domestic main 6 airport (Narita, Kansai International Airport, Haneda, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Sapporo) was 2,757 flights (87.7% decreased) and they provided 620,229 seats (88.0% decreased) this year.
Japanese government has added Thailand and Vietnam to the target of “Residence Truck” on July 29.This is an exceptional frame of international migration for human resources required for business. It enables people to go in and out of Japan while keeping the waiting time 14 days after entering each country.
In addition, Japan is under an adjustment with some countries and regions where the infection has subsided. International traffic has slightly started to move again after the delay for several months.

It was my day off on August 6. I went home and found one egg in my garden.
I keep various kinds of turtles there. And the area I found the egg was where I keep Chinese box turtles. I saw my turtle laying an egg for the first time, so I got excited.
A turtle usually digs a hole in soil, and it lays eggs. But this time the egg was not laid on a hole. While I thought it would be a wind egg, I collected it so as not to be stepped on by turtles. Two or three days later, the egg began to be clouded. I expected that it might be a fertilized egg.
It is said that the temperature determines the sex of turtles.
Females tend to be born at high temperatures, and males at low temperatures.
Today more and more female turtles are said to be born by the influence of global warming.
As a result, male turtles of some kinds are treated as rare and expensive.
I don’t particularly control the temperature around the egg. I’m looking forward to seeing the egg be hatched well.
